I started two walking tours, one in Italian the second one in English called, "La Dublino dei Dublinesi", "Inside Dublin", these tours are not historical walking tours, but more likely are walks through the streets that witnessed the birth of the real Dublin : The Liberties. Here you can breathe the air between the stalls of Meath Street, very popular among the locals, the art of Francis Street, the favourite street of antique dealers. Walking then towards Portobello, you will find typical Irish homes and a tailor that can also be a cafe. You can enjoy a good pint of beer at the Bernard Shaw Pub; in its back garden you can order a pizza at the Blue Bus and dine on its top level. You can taste a good espresso at the La Dolce Vita or a cake during the tour.
During the tours we will meet the people whose work makes Dublin the city of dreams for many foreigners who have landed here for simple holidays or for work reasons. The locals will tell us their stories and recount the legends of these quarters and the distinct way they melt together. They will also tell us their life stories and experiences which will help us to understand the significance of living in Dublin today.
A part of the ticket will be donated to the local Oxfam shop. and to the Third Space in Smithfield, for the purchase of suspended coffee to offer to the community.
