Bufflehead is a 32 foot wooden gaff sloop, a classic boat, built in 1964. She is a very pretty boat, superbly swift, comfortable and safe. Captain Daniel Bennett sailed around the Pacific Ocean on a tall ship, and twice across the Atlantic (and back and forth to the Caribbean) on his own small boat. He rebuilt Bufflehead five years ago and now offers custom daysail experiences, out of Rockland harbor primarily, to share his love of the water, interest in the area and comfort with people. We can go for as short as an hour, to tour by sail the lively working harbor, or sightseeing tours of a few hours, out past the lighthouses into the bay surrounded by mountains and islands, possible swim stops. Also sunset sails, moonsails, one-ways and all day excursions to islands for hiking, swimming, lobsterbakes, etc. All this on beautiful Penobscot Bay. Calendar on my website shows availability. Reasonable rates. Come sailing, May-October aboard Bufflehead.
